WARD

Carl Ward, 88, of Crestview Hills, Kentucky, passed away on March 18, 2014 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on August 31, 1925, Mr. Ward served in theU.S. Marine Corps during the Second World War, serving in the 6th Marine Division during the Okinawa campaign. He later earned bachelor and masters degrees from Eastern Kentucky University. Mr. Ward married Mary Lou Snyder on May 11, 1946. They were married for over 52 years. From 1956 to 1971 Mr. Ward was headmaster of the Florida Military School in Deland, Florida. He later served the Volusia County Schools in a variety of positions, retiring in 1987. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary S. Ward. He is survived by four loving sons, Carl C. Ward, Edgewood, Kentucky, Paul S. Ward, Carmel, Indiana, Scott C. Ward, Tallahassee, Florida and John D. Ward, Clemmons, North Carolina, and seven loving granddaughters. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Hospice of the Bluegrass, 7388 Turfway Road, Florence, KY 41042 or the Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
